UFC 153: Anderson Silva vs Stephan Bonnar Full Video Replay

RIO DE JANEIRO – Neither size nor toughness could save Stephan Bonnar from Anderson Silva
Silva, who stepped up to light heavyweight to save the injury-rattled UFC 153, brazenly took Bonnar's best shots before launching a knee that crumpled "The American Psycho" in the first round.
The light heavyweight bout served as the main event of Saturday's UFC 153 event at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro. It aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and Facebook.

"I'm not the best," Silva said through his translator and manager Ed Soares. "I just believe that I can do things that people believe are impossible."

The middleweight champ stated he would not again fight at light-heavweight, dashing again hopes that he might one day move up to challenge champ Jon Jones

The massive underdog Bonnar made good on his promise to go after Silva, immediately chasing him across the cage. He took advantage of a slip from the middleweight champ, and grabbed a leg for a single-leg takedown, transitioning to punches against the cage as Silva resisted. With double undercooks, Bonnar had the position to muscle a takedown, yet Silva was unmoved.

Bonnar persisted against the cage, firing off short punches before transitioning to another takedown attempt.

Silva shot that down and inexplicably placed himself at the edge of the cage, inviting and taking punches from "The American Pyscho" before the two tied up. Again, Bonnar grabbed a leg and landed punches in a desperate attempt to hurt the champ. Silva simply sat there and took them while firing his own.

Finally dodging out of the way, Silva tripped Bonnar to the mat and leapt in for the finish with punches. But it was the leaping knee that caused Bonnar's face to contort in pain, and at once, he went into the fetal position. A few more punches, and the ending most observers expected had materialized.

The official time of the stoppage was 4:40 of the first round.

Silva (33-4 MMA, 16-0 UFC) remains unbeaten in the octagon with 16 straight victories, while Bonnar, (14-8 MMA, 8-7 UFC) who sees a three-fight streak snapped, is left to ponder the future of his career.
