Andray Blatche confident Gilas Pilipinas will continue to impress
Andray Blatche's debut game for the Philippines will be remembered forever.
After an awful first quarter, he was able to recover and finish the game with 28 points that went along with 12 rebounds as Gilas Pilipinas gave 16th ranked Croatia a scare in the opening game of the 2014 FIBA World Cup.
Though Gilas lost 81-78 in overtime to the Group B favorites, the Filipinos earned the respect of their opponents. Blatche, playing his first FIBA game, had a superb second half transcending his 3-of-13 shooting during the first half.
“Unfortunately we lost today but today’s game confirms how much I trust my teammates," Blatche told Sportando after the game. "We fought until the end against a much stronger opponent and we had also the final shot to win it."

2014 FIBA WORLD CUP: Gilas Pilipinas comes up short as Croatia takes 81-78 win in OT (VIDEO)
Gilas-Pilipinas dropped its first game in the FIBA World Cup after suffering an 81-78 overtime loss to Croatia on Saturday evening in Seville, Spain.
Bojan Bogdanovic scored a team-high 26 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the field to lead the Croatian national team. Andray Blatche had a game-high 28, while Jeff Chan scored 17 markers to spearhead the Philippines' attack.

Official Music Video of 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup features Gilas Pilipinas
The music video for 'Sube la Copa', the official song of the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup, was released on Thursday. The video features some of the biggest stars in international basketball as they join the singer - as well as fans of their countries - in singing, playing and dancing the song in a party of rhythms, roots and colours, with some of the best moments and highlights from past editions of FIBA's flagship event mixed in.
