Jordan Clarkson wears Gilas Pilipinas jersey; joins national team practice (VIDEO)
It’s happening. Filipino-American NBA player Jordan Clarkson dropped by the practice of the Philippine national men’s basketball team on Wednesday night at the Meralco Gym.
Clarkson has been invited to “observe” Gilas Pilipinas training, but he was seen having a more active role. He wore a practice jersey while also doing warm-ups and drills with the players.
Clarkson is currently in the country for his endorsement deal with Smart Communications, a sponsor of Gilas Pilipinas. He is also bringing in the necessary documents required by FIBA for him to be eligible to suit up for the Philippines.
The Los Angeles Lakers guard is part of the 24-man lineup submitted by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas for the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship in September where a spot in the 2016 Rio Olympics is at stake.
