After a much-criticized 'Pilipinas Kay Ganda' and a mediocre design of 'Pilipinas Tara Na!', Department of Tourism headed by Ramon Jimenez, Jr. launched a new brand campaign to attract visitors to the country with the line - ‘It’s more fun in the Philippines’
If you will look at the design it is far far far better than the ‘Pilipinas Tara Na!’ design and brainier than the ‘Pilipinas Kay Ganda’.
According to DOT, the campaign focuses on the country’s core strength and singles out what no other destination can offer - and that is the Filipino people.
And I think that is a good idea because the (we) Filipinos are already known around the world to be one of the happiest and warmest people on earth.
For example, the Lonely Planet Guidebook calls Filipinos ‘among the most easygoing and ebullient people anywhere.’
But netizens doubt that DOT’s slogan “It’s more fun in the Philippines’ might not really new and DOT only derived it from an old tourism ad of Switzerland which is - "I'ts more fun in Switzerland".
My take - Forget it! haha! That tourism ad of Switzerland is already old and unused. Move on folks!! :) Let's just be happy and hope for the best for our country. After all, it's more fun in the Philippines. right?
