The 2012 Wimbledon Ladies' Singles Title goes to World’s
No.6 Serena Williams after she defeated Polish player Agnieszka Radwanska
(World’s No.3) by 6-1 5-7 and 6-2.
In the first set, American player Williams made a good start
while World’s No.3 Radwanska was seems on adjustment period. First set was won
by Williams 6-1.
On 2nd set, Radwanska already made the right adjustments
and started the set on the right track. But Serena seems unstoppable and made 5
service aces just for this set which kept her alive. Unfortunately for
Williams, Radwanska took the 2nd set 7-5.
On 3rd set, Williams maintained her composure and
lessen her unforced errors. While, Radwanska retained her high energy from 2nd
set, she leads the 3rd set 2-1. But Williams overtaken her and win
the 3rd set, 6-2, so as the match.
"I never dreamed of being here again. Never give up.”
Williams said. "OMG I can't even describe. I almost didn't make it a few
years ago I was in hospital & now I'm here again. So worth it!" she added.
Meanwhile, Agnieszka Radwanska, who made this final match
more exciting, says "I think I have the best two weeks of my life. I'm
just happy to have been here in the final."
"I have great memories from 2005 when I won junior Wimbledon.
Today I had a chance to win Wimbledon but it
was not my day."
It was the 5th Wimbledon title of Serena Williams,
equal to her sister Venus Williams' 5 Wimbledon titles.
