MANILA, Philippines – Eight-division world champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao is not concerned about reports that his Mexican rival Juan Manuel Marquez is looking more and more muscular as their December 8 fight date draws nearer.
Various reports from Marquez’s training camp in Mexico City say the boxer has bulked up even more as he prepares for his fourth fight against Pacquiao.
But in an interview with The Boxing Channel, Pacquiao dismissed those reports, pointing out that he has been in the ring with bigger men.
Pacquiao became the top boxer in the world pound-for-pound by steadily climbing the sport’s weight divisions while retaining his vaunted speed and punching power. He defeated De La Hoya and Cotto by knockout, then decisioned Margarito, Joshua Clottey and Shane Mosley.
He has since settled comfortably at the welterweight division (147-pounds).
For their fourth bout, both fighters have promised to finally put a decisive end to their saga, which began in 2004 when they battled to a draw.
