The Ateneo Blue Eagles and UST Growling Tigers will find themselves in a battle that will set their fate in stone in the UAAP Season 76 men's basketball tournament.
Ateneo and UST slug it out at 4PM tomorrow at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum in a win-or-go-home match for the last Final Four berth, while the University of the East and University of the Philippines try to end their season on a winning note in the 2PM tussle.
Both teams are expected to fight tooth-and-nail in what is expected to be an epic game, with the winner claiming the final semis slot while staying on course for a possible return to the finals.
The victor of the Ateneo-UST clash will also have the right to face top-seeded National University in this year's Final Four. The Bulldogs, being the number one team after the elimination round, will enjoy a twice-to-beat advantage.
Gunning for their sixth-straight UAAP championship, the Blue Eagles will try to regain their dominant stature in the league but will have to do it tomorrow without head tactician Bo Perasol.
Perasol will serve a one-game suspension anew after showing up in the venue of Ateneo's game against UE despite being banned for one match. (read full story here)
Hounded by injuries for the most part of the elimination round, the Tigers will leave everything behind - including a painful loss to De La Salle University in their previous game that could put them in a better position coming into the match against Ateneo - and focus on the game at hand.
Meanwhile, Far Eastern University and La Salle will dispute the second spot which entails a twice-to-beat bonus on Saturday, 4PM, at the Mall of Asia Arena. Both teams have identical 10-4 win-loss haul.
