With its big men Kerby Raymundo and Japeth Aguilar out due to injuries, Barangay Ginebra is likely to bring back Eric Menk to active duty to prop up its lineup.
Gin Kings coach Ato Agustin said Menk, who teamed up with Asi Taulava in San Miguel Beer at the ASEAN Basketball League, is being recommended by the team management.
“Yes, of course, may plano kami [to get a big man]. Meron silang [management] ni-recommend at nabanggit 'yung pangalan ni Eric Menk,” Agustin said in an interview with told SPIN’s Richard Dy.
With only one win in four games midway the PBA Governors’ Cup eliminations, the Kings are trying to save its PBA Governors’ Cup campaign. However, they can’t do it without a legitimate big man.
Raymundo is nursing a bruised bone on the knee, while Aguilar has a medial collateral ligament injury.
“Sa ngayon kulang kami. Imagine, Kerby Raymundo and Japeth are out. Wala kaming big men. Only Billy [Mamaril] and Rico [Maierhofer],” said Agustin.
