American boxer Timothy Bradley said he might grant Manny Pacquiao a rematch if the Filipino boxer scores a dominant win over Mexico’s Brandon Rios.
“If Manny Pacquiao can beat Brandon Rios in November than maybe we can have our rematch after that fight,” Bradley, who declined a $6-million offer for a second faceoff with Pacquiao, told The Sweet Science.
However, a rematch will only happen if Bradley successfully retains his WBO welterweight title against Juan Manuel Marquez on October 12.
Bradley said he decided to fight Marquez instead of Pacquiao because he sees the Mexican counter punching specialist as a “new challenge”.
“Challenges are what I am all about. They invigorate me. And the chance to fight Márquez in front of his legion of loyal Hispanic fans? Heck, I'm riding that wave. I live for a fight like this,” he said.
Bradley wrested the WBO welterweight crown from Pacquiao via a controversial decision in June 2012.
He claimed to have been traumatized by the Pacquiao fight as received heavy criticism due to the controversial nature of his win.
