High school player scores 120 points in a game

A player of the AMA Junior Titans reportedly scored a stunning 120 points during a game against Lord’s Grace Christian University in the 8th Mariano Bondoc Cup held at the Hope Christian Academy in Quezon City.

Clark Quijano, a 16-year-old player, fired off 120 points in only three quarters of action to lead his team to a 166-85 victory.

Quijano exploded for 59 points in the opening quarter alone, then added 41 points in the second quarter and another 20 points in the third before finally sitting out the last period.

Quijano joins a list of high school players who have registered stunning scoring outbursts.

La Salle star Jeron Teng, as a player for Xavier in high school, famously scored 104 points in a Tiong Lian game. UAAP Season 76 Most Valuable Player Terrence Romeo also scored 83 points during his senior year with the FEU Baby Tamaraws.

In the NCAA, Joshua Saret scored 89 points for the Jose Rizal Light Bombers in 2009, breaking the record set by his former teammate, Keith Agovida, who scored 82 points the year before.

Last year, Jack Taylor of Grinnell College made headlines after scoring 138 points, the most in the US NCAA, in a 179-104 victory over Faith Baptist.
