Two weeks into the NBA season, Houston Rockets guard James Harden found himself in violation of the league's anti-flopping rule by being whistled for a second such violation.
The league fined Harden $5,000 on Monday for his second flopping violation of the young campaign, one called with four minutes to play in the final quarter of the Rockets' 107-94 home loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.
On the play, Harden rebounded his own missed shot but was challenged by Clippers forward Blake Griffin and promptly threw himself onto the floor after being bumped by Griffin, who was called for a foul on the play.
Harden is averaging 24.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists for the Rockets, who are off to a 4-3 start, sharing second with Dallas in the Southwest division behind the San Antonio Spurs.
Harden led the NBA in free throws last season and ranks third so far in the 2013-2014 campaign.
