Ricky Hatton says Manny Pacquiao nearing end of career

Ricky Hatton said his former foe Manny Pacquiao has already gone through a lot of wars and is already nearing the end of a colorful career.

The former British fighter, who got knocked out cold by Pacquiao in 2009, said the Filipino boxer has already showed signs of slipping in his past fights.

"Manny has had a lot of hard fights, he's gone through a lot of weight divisions and he's had a very long career. So I personally think the writing is on the wall for Manny,” Hatton said in Boxing Scene.

“He didn't look very good against Timothy Bradley, then he got knocked down like that [by Juan Manuel Marquez]. The signs don't look good.”

But Hatton admitted Pacquiao may still have something left in his tank, citing that the fighting congressman wants to prove his doubters wrong.

Pacquiao is scheduled to clash with Brandon Rios on November 24.

Although Rios will be a tough match, Hatton believes Pacquiao can manage a victory over the Mexican-American brawler.

"Brandon Rios comes to fight, and if he comes to fight Manny it could then all go wrong,” Hatton said. “I do think it's going to be a tough night for Manny, but I also think he'll come back with a victory."

Hatton earlier admitted going through depression after getting a vicious knockout from the Filipino superstar in 2009.

In 2012, he tried mounting a boxing comeback but decided to end his career for good after he was knocked out by Vyacheslav Senchenko in the ninth round.
