“Floyd has also been saying, he will only fight me if I separate from Top Rank and Bob Arum, imposible ‘yun kasi ang kontrata ko valid hanggang ngayong taon na ito pa. So how ? (That’s impossible because my contract is still valid this year)” Pacquiao said in an interview with Philboxing’s Eddie Alinea.

The fighting congressman’s live contract with Bob Arum’s Top Rank Inc. remains valid until the end of 2014.

Pacquiao said Mayweather will have to wait until then.

“Ibig sabihin, kung hindi ako ire-renew, next year pa kami pwedeng mag-usap tungkol sa laban (That means, if I don’t renew my contract, we can talk next year),” said the eight-division former world champion.

Pacquiao’s statement came after rumors spread about supposed megafight, which according to a boxing website, will take place in September.

The Filipino champion said he knows nothing about the September bout and he has yet to decide on his next opponent.

He added that he repeatedly tried to bring Mayweather into the ring with him, but the brash American boxer has continued to decline the fight.

“Floyd himself has been telling the whole world, ayaw nya akong labanan… Pero kung gugustuhin niyang finally labanan ako, okay with me,” he said.
