After a tense opening round featuring both guys landing a couple of solid blows, Juan Manuel Lopez and Daniel Ponce De Leon brought out the big guns in round two, and it was Lopez who got his career back on track with a stoppage win against the same man he stopped in one round back in 2008.
Lopez (34-3, 31 KO) was dropped fairly hard by Ponce De Leon (45-6, 35 KO) in the second round, but shortly after landed a beautiful right hook that put Ponce De Leon on the canvas.

Lopez (34-3, 31 KO) was dropped fairly hard by Ponce De Leon (45-6, 35 KO) in the second round, but shortly after landed a beautiful right hook that put Ponce De Leon on the canvas.
Not long after that, the Mexican fighter returned to the floor, and then was stopped on his feet under another attack by Lopez, who saw the opening and took it.
Ponce De Leon protested the stoppage and was upset after the fight, of course, but he was getting hammered in there, and it wasn't the worst stoppage. Ponce De Leon said he felt the referee jumped in too early and that he was blocking the shots.
Lopez, now at super featherweight, may be in line for a world title shot following this win. And it's hardly the end for Ponce De Leon, as he was just outpunched in an explosive battle of punchers.
