With their campaign in the PLDT Home TVolution Commissioner’s Cup threatening to go astray, the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters have hit the panic button by making an import change.
Team executive Mamerto Mondragon confirmed to InterAksyon that the Elasto Painters are bringing in Wayne Chism to replace the incumbent Alex McLean.
With McLean in the lineup, the Philippine Cup runners-up have stumbled to a 1-3 start with just five matches remaining in the elimination round of the current tournament.
Chism, a 6-foot-8 forward out of University of Tennessee, will finally be able to make his PBA debut.
He was initially tapped by Barako Bull to play for the team, but Chism could not get clearance to play after a contract dispute with his last team in Hungary.
That left Barako Bull bringing in Josh Dollard instead.
Chism has reportedly settled the dispute, leaving him free to sign with any PBA team.
McLean, however, will still have a chance to have a good for Rain or Shine against the Meralco Bolts on Wednesday.
