The Philippine national basketball team took the first step in its long journey to the FIBA Asia Championship, dropping a lopsided 89-62 result to a bigger Netherlands squad in Estonia on Thursday (early Friday PHL time).
It was the first game of Gilas Pilipinas under new coach Tab Baldwin, who is hoping to turn the squad into fighting form in time for the Asian tournament next month.
