Talk n Text has finally completed to reload its frontline with a young core following the acquisition of second overall pick Troy Rosario from Mahindra (formerly Kia) on Tuesday.
New PBA commissioner Chito Narvasa approved a series of trades including the three-team, five-player trade that saw Rosario going to the Tropang Texters while sister team NLEX Road Warriors netting Kevin Alas.
This trade has been floated around for sometime now but only consummated two days after the Rookie Draft following the request of Narvasa to defer trading on the floor.
The Tropang Texters acquired the 6-6 Rosario from Mahindra (formerly Kia) in exchange for sophomore guard Kevin Alas and veteran big man Rob Reyes.
Mahindra then shipped Alas to NLEX in exchange for big shooting forward Nino Canaleta and Gilas pool member Aldrech Ramos.
Rosario will join top overall pick Moala Tautuaa and Ranidel de Ocampo at Talk N Text to form a fearsome threesome frontline.
Defending Phil. Cup champion San Miguel Beermen also tinkered with their roster acquiring Brian Heruela from Barako Bull in exchange for third string point guard Jeric Fortuna.
Heruela, last season's assist leader, will be reunited with his college teammate and best buddy June Mar Fajardo at San Miguel.
Barako Bull did not stop from wheeling and dealing as it also dealt Nico Salva and its 2016 first round pick to Brgy. Ginebra for Josh Urbiztondo, Eman Monfort and Jens Knuttel.
