Miami Heat retained the NBA championship by drubbing San Antonio Spurs, 95-88, in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. 


Behind an inspired effort from reigning MVP LeBron James, the Miami Heat became the the sixth different franchise in league history to win back-to-back championships by holding off the San Antonio Spurs, 95-88, in Game 7 NBA Finals.

NBA Finals 2013 Game 6: Miami Heat vs San Antonio Spurs Full Replay

The 2012-13 NBA season will come down to an ultimate game for all the marbles. LeBron James made sure of that after leading the defending champion Miami Heat to a 103-100 overtime victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game Six of the finals on Tuesday (Wednesday morning Manila time).


Miami survived a hot start from Tim Duncan, who scored 25 of his 30 points in the first half along with 17 rebounds for the Spurs. Kahwi Leonard added 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Spurs. Parker had 19 points but struggled shooting just 6-of-23 from the field. Mario Chalmers helped keep the Heat in the game in the first half, finishing with 20 points on 4-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc. Game Seven is set on Thursday (Friday morning Manila time) in Miami. Miami Heat force Game 7 by defeating San Antonio Spurs 103-100

Lebron James, The Miami Heat superstar entered Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs averaging 31.5 points, 10 rebounds and 6.4 assists in 11 elimination games. But entering the fourth quarter Tuesday night, James had missed nine of 12 shots, and the Heat trailed by 10 points.


With Miami's season on the line and another premature referendum on James' legacy up for discussion, James delivered with 16-fourth quarter points and two in overtime, leading the Heat to a 103-100 victory and forcing one more game.

NBA Finals 2013 Game 4: Miami Heat vs San Antonio Spurs Full Replay

The Miami Heat showed championship pride, rebounding from a blowout loss with a 109-93 victory over the Spurs in San Antonio on Thursday (Friday morning Manila time). With its Game Four win, Miami tied the NBA finals series at 2-all.


LeBron James led the way with 33 points and 11 rebounds, but it was Dwyane Wade’s vintage performance that turned things around for the Heat. The 2006 NBA finals MVP played his finest game of the postseason with 32 points, six rebounds, and six steals. San Antonio committed 19 turnovers, which Miami turned into 23 points.

Chris Bosh added 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Heat. Miami looked nothing like the team that was humiliated 113-77 in Game Three as once again they displayed their ability to recover from defeats.

NBA Finals 2013 Game 3: Miami Heat vs San Antonio Spurs Full Replay

San Antonio Spurs outplayed Miami Heat in Game 3 of the NBA Finals 2013. Gary Neal scored a playoff career-high 24 points as San Antonio authored a 23-8 run to start the third quarter and went on to rout Miami 113-77 in game three of the NBA finals on Tuesday.


Danny Green scored a game-high 27 points and Kawhi Leonard finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds and four steals as San Antonio’s supporting cast bounced back with vengeance at home. Green went seven-of-nine from three-point range.

Tim Duncan finished with 12 points and 14 rebounds and Manu Ginobili had six assists for the Spurs, who are trying to win their fifth NBA title and first since 2007 when they knocked out a young Cleveland Cavaliers team led by LeBron James — now starring with the Heat.

The defending champion Miami Heat will now get three days of rest before hosting the San Antonio Spurs in Game 1 of the 2013 NBA Finals on Thursday evening.


San Antonio won three NBA titles between 2003 and 2007, but haven't been to the NBA Finals for the past five years. Miami had the better record throughout the regular season and has home-court advantage throughout the Finals. The schedule for the NBA Finals is as follows:

The Heat captured the best-of-seven Eastern Conference final four games to three and booked a championship series showdown against the San Antonio Spurs that will open on Thursday at Miami.

Dwyane Wade had 21 points on 7-of-16 shooting and pulled down nine rebounds for Miami while James, who hit 8-of-17 from the field, grabbed eight rebounds and Chris Bosh contributed nine points and eight rebounds for the Heat.

NBA East Finals GAME 6: Miami Heat vs Indiana Pacers Full Replay

The Indiana Pacers exploded in the second half en route to a 91-77 victory over Miami on Saturday to force a deciding seventh game in their NBA Eastern Conference final series.


Paul George led the Pacers with 28 points, Roy Hibbert added 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and Indiana held off the reigning NBA champion Heat in the fourth quarter to knot the series at three games apiece. NBA East Finals GAME 5: Miami Heat vs Indiana Pacers Full Replay

LeBron James scored 16 of his 30 points in a pivotal third quarter on Thursday to lead the Miami Heat to a 90-79 victory over Indiana and to within one win of returning to the NBA finals.

NBA East Finals GAME 4: Miami Heat vs Indiana Pacers Full Replay Video

Center Roy Hibbert scored 23 points as the Indiana Pacers went on a 13-3 run to close the game and beat the Miami Heat 99-92 in game four of their NBA semifinal round series on Tuesday.


The Pacers were blown out of game three by the Heat but they rebounded mightily at home on Tuesday against the defending NBA champion Heat to level the series at 2-2. NBA East Finals GAME 2: Miami Heat vs Indiana Pacers Full Replay Video

The Indiana Pacers bounced back from a heart-breaking game one defeat to edge LeBron James and the Miami Heat 97-93 on Friday and level the NBA Eastern Conference finals at one game apiece.

Floyd Mayweather Jr., Lebron James top highest-paid U.S. athletes' list

Undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the highest-paid professional athlete in the United States with expected earnings of at least $90 million this year from just two bouts, according to Sports Illustrated magazine.

The 36-year-old welterweight - considered the best defensive boxer of his generation - topped the magazine's Fortunate 50 list, issued on Wednesday. Mayweather also took the top spot last year, earning an estimated $85 million, again from just two fights, the magazine reported.

LeBron James denies flopping accusations from Chicago Bulls

The suggestion that he's a flopper drew a grin as wide as his wingspan from LeBron James.


Miami's superstar shot down the accusations from the Chicago Bulls, saying they reminded him of the days when some claimed he was overrated and questioned his ability to lead a team to a championship.

"It's kind of the same (as when) I heard people say I was overrated," he said Sunday (Monday, Manila time). "It's kind of like the same response."
