FIBA is reconsidering its ban on the basketball federation of Lebanon,  which may pave the way for the team to participate in the FIBA Asia Championship in August.

According to a report by the Daily Star Lebanon, the decision may be reversed after Lebanon’s courts withdrew interference in affairs of Lebanon’s basketball federations

Iran further underscored it’s among the teams to beat in the coming 27th FIBA Asia Championship after reclaiming the crown in the 2013 William Jones Cup in Taipei Saturday.

Cory Monteith, who played heartthrob Finn Hudson in the Fox hit "Glee" was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room Saturday, police said. He was 31.

Vancouver police said the cause of death was not immediately apparent, but they ruled out foul play. Medical examiners will conduct an autopsy Monday.

The field in the FIBA Asia Championship got a little easier after the ouster of powerhouse Lebanon, following a decision by FIBA to suspend the country’s basketball federation.

A report by The Daily Star Lebanon said the international basketball body confirmed its suspension Lebanon after it failed to meet requirements set by FIBA.

The world basketball federation earlier gave Lebanon a deadline to take steps about a number of violations, which include political meddling in matches as well as legal disputes between teams and players.
