"Douthit suspension. Big break for us": Koreans trace Golden run on Marcus boo-boo
Top officials of the Korean Basketball League said the outcome of the 17th Asian Games men’s basketball competition could have been different if not for the suspension of Marcus Douthit in the Philippines-Korea game.
KBL commissioner Kim Young Ki and secretary general Jae Min Lee said it would have been very tough for the Koreans to beat Gilas Pilipinas if Douthit played.

Gilas Pilipinas defeats Mongolia 84-68 to take 7th place - Asian Games 2014
After a slow start, Gilas shifted into high gear to turn an early deficit into a breakaway and beat Mongolia, 84-68, in the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea Wednesday afternoon.
Gilas wound up seventh with the triumph, but still recorded the country's worst finish in the quadrennial meet.
Ranidel de Ocampo heated up in the first half, virtually carrying Gilas with all but 14 of his total output of 25 points.

Chot Reyes takes responsibility for Gilas Pilipinas letdown in Asiad
National team head coach Chot Reyes took the blame for Gilas Pilipinas' heartbreaking loss to South Korea in the 2014 Asian Games, which severely dented its chances of winning a medal.
Gilas squandered a 16-point lead and were torched by Tae-Jong Moon for 38 points as they lost, 95-97. It was their third consecutive defeat in the competition.
Why Marcus Douthit's 'own basket' in Gilas-Kazakhstan wasn't counted
There was a goofy sequence on Sunday with 11 seconds left in Gilas Pilipinas' game against Kazakhstan, when Marcus Douthit tried to score on his own basket after an inbound pass from Jimmy Alapag.
But the referees waved off Douthit's basket for Kazakhstan, instead calling a violation and calling a violation on Gilas.

Gilas Pilipinas out of Asian Games despite beating Kazakhstan (VIDEO)
Gilas Pilipinas' hopes of advancing to the medal round of the 2014 Asian Games were dashed despite beating Kazakhstan, 67-65, Sunday at the Hwaseong Sports Complex in Incheon.
Gilas needed to win the game by at least 11 points to at least have a chance of making it to the medal round, but a late flurry by Kazakhstan erased the Philippines' double-digit lead.

Australia 'interested' in joining Asian Games
Australia has welcomed the idea of possibly competing at the Asian Games after Asian Olympic officials agreed to let Oceania nations join them in smaller multi-sports events.

Pangilinan reassured that the country has received authorization from the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) for Douthit, who was tapped to replace ineligible naturalized player Andray Blatche, to play for the Philippine national men’s basketball team in the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, Korea.
