USA vs ANGOLA FIBA U-17 World Championship (FULL GAME REPLAY VIDEO)

In Group A, the two-time reigning undefeated champions USA cruised past Angola for their second straight win, 99-56. Harry Giles paced four players in double figures with 14 points. Five more Americans scored at least eight points. 
U17 Worlds debutants Angola dropped to 1-1 despite 17 points from Silva De Sousa.

Batang Gilas PHILIPPINES vs GREECE FIBA U-17 World Championship (FULL GAME REPLAY VIDEO)

The Batang Gilas, Philippine national under-17 basketball team, lost to a taller, bigger Greek team, 85-65, and dropped its second consecutive game in the FIBA Under-17 World Championships Saturday night in Dubai.
Jolo Mendoza scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead the Batang Gilas, who were only down 17-25 at the end of the opening frame, but were outscored 21-9 in the second period. Greece pulled away completely after out-scoring the Philippines, 17-7, in the third period to take a 63-33 lead entering the final quarter.

USA vs Greece 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship (FULL GAME REPLAY VIDEO)

DUBAI (FIBA U17 World Championship) - The two-time champions United States were tested but prevailed in their opener of the 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship against Greece.
The USA were never seriously threatened in the second half in grabbing a 83-73 victory over Greece in Group A. Diamond Stone was top scorer for the Americans with 22 points while also picking up 10 rebounds and four blocks. Malik Newman added 12 points and Jayson Tatum had 10 points in the win. Vasileios Charalampopoulos led the Greeks with 17 points while Georgios Papagiannis had 16 points and 11 rebounds and Antonios Koniaris chipped in 15 points in the loss. 

The Greeks trailed just 32-31 midway through the second quarter when the Americans went on a 13-2 run to break away. Greece would never get closer than eight points the rest of the way as USA had an answer any time the Europeans trimmed it to single digits.

Batang Gilas drops FIBA U-17 World Championship debut to Angola

The Philippine national youth basketball team, Batang Gilas, put together a gutsy effort but ultimately fell short against a taller, more athletic Angola side, 82-72, in their opening game in the FIBA U-17 World Championship on Friday at the Al-Ahli Arena in Dubai, UAE.

The Batang Gilas squad stayed within striking distance for most of the game, coming to as close as seven points in the fourth quarter despite falling behind by as much as 13 points in the third.
