FIBA Americas: Argentina loss to Puerto Rico (Day 7 Highlights Video)
Puerto Rico have been the best team in the Qualifying Round at the 2013 FIBA Americas Championship, winning all of their games to ease their way into the Second Round.
On Thursday, with the start of the Second Round, they were tested by a young and inexperienced Argentina (2-2) but responded very well as they rallied from a 15-point deficit to snatch at 94-80 win.

World No.1 Serena Williams was cruising along in the US Open semifinals, serving up another bagel, when, out of nowhere, a competitive tennis match broke out.
Didn't last long. The defending champion won the first seven games of Friday's match, then actually fell down a break early in the second set, before quickly regaining it on the way to a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Chinese fifth-seeded Li Na.

The way Aiba officials envision it, the mere thought of the likes of Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. strutting their fistic stuff in the Olympics is enough to instantly elevate the sport's status in the Olympics.
NY Knicks guard JR Smith banned for 5-games for drug violation
New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith has been suspended five games without pay by the NBA, the league announced Friday, for violating the league anti-drug program.
The ban will begin with the first game of the 2013-2014 season in which Smith is physically able to perform, which is an issue in his case because the 27-year-old American underwent left knee surgery in July.

WBC President hopes Mayweather-Alvarez winner faces Manny Pacquiao
WBC President Jose Sulaiman hopes Filipino boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao will get to fight the victor between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez who are set to battle on September 14.
The WBC junior middleweight crown will be one of the two titles at stake in the Mayweather-Canelo fight which will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada. Also up for grabs is the WBA Super World junior middleweight belt.
PBA: Salud explains heavy sanctions vs players involved in brawl
Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner Chito Salud said the sanctions handed down against the players involved in the free-for-all between San Mig Coffee and GlobalPort depended on the gravity of their actions.
GlobalPort’s Kelly Nabong and San Mig Coffee’s Marc Pingris, who were at the center of the melee, were fined P60,000 each and were suspended for two games.
Air21, Meralco sealed Asi Taulava, Mike Cortez trade deal
Asi Taulava's wish to return to the PBA has been granted. Meralco has agreed to trade the rights to the 6-9 Taulava to Air21 Express for former top rookie pick Mike Cortez in a deal that could trigger an avalanche of trade deals in the final stretch of the league's 38th season.
The papers for the trade have been forwarded to the PBA Commissioner's Office for approval on Friday.
