Petron survives in PBA Finals Game 6 vs San Mig (REPLAY VIDEO)

The Petron Blaze Boosters survived a late scare and beat the San Miguel Coffee Mixers, 99-88, Wednesday night at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

With the win, the Blaze Boosters tied the series at 3-3 and forced a decisive Game 7.

Import Elijah Millsap led Petron again, finishing the game with 30 points and 6 assists, while rookie June Mar Fajardo maintained a consistent finals performance with 21 points and 14 rebounds.

Barangay Ginebra trades Kerby Raymundo for Jay-R Reyes

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel sent veteran forward Kerby Raymundo to the Meralco Bolts on Tuesday in exchange for center Jay-R Reyes.

The deal, which was approved by the league on Tuesday, would give the Gin Kings a younger frontliner to pair up with high-flying forward Japeth Aguilar. Ginebra is also expected to tab a young frontliner with its No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft, with Greg Slaughter and Ian Sangalang likely candidates.

Petron fan club apologizes for racist chants on Marqus Blakely

The head of one fan club for the Petron Blaze Boosters apologized for a racial slur chanted by some of his group’s members at San Mig Coffee import Marqus Blakely during Game Five of the PLDT Telpad Governors’ Cup finals.

Anmessage from Blazing Beermen Clan fan club founder Ryan Ponce was posted on the group’s Facebook account on Monday admitting the incident and apologizing for the behavior of some of its members.

2013 PBA Rookie Draft: Who will be the top pick?

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel will take first crack at the rookie pool in the PBA draft at the Robinson’s Midtown Manila on Nov. 3 and from indications, it appears that 7-foot Greg Slaughter will be the top pick. But San Mig Coffee coach Tim Cone said yesterday Terrence Romeo’s surprise entry has thrown a wrench in the selection and he’s not ruling out the point guard to be an early choice.
For his part, Barako Bull coach Rajko Toroman singled out Slaughter of Ateneo, 6-7 Ian Sangalang of San Sebastian College and 6-7 1/2 Raymund Almazan of Letran as the likely top three picks.
