LA Lakers allow Jordan Clarkson for Gilas Pilipinas but with one condition
The Los Angeles Lakers will release Filipino-American NBA player Jordan Clarkson to the Philippine national men’s basketball team for the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship later this month.
However there’s one catch: the Lakers want Clarkson back before September 28, or right before their annual media day and training camp. That is right at the middle of the Olympic qualifier, meaning Gilas Pilipinas will only have him at the start of the tournament.

Gilas Pilipinas routs Japan 75-60 in Jones Cup 2015 (FULL GAME REPLAY VIDEO)
The Gilas Pilipinas, Philippine national men’s basketball team, thanks to a huge fourth quarter effort from Moala Tautuaa and some sharp outside shooting from its gunners, cruised to a huge 75-60 victory over Japan to move up the 37th William Jones Cup standings on Wednesday at the Xinzhuang Gymnasium in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
Tautuaa scored eight points in the fourth quarter, including two monster dunks, but also showcased his ball-handling, passing and defense as he helped Gilas Pilipinas blow the game wide open in the fourth.

The Gilas Pilipinas, Philippine national basketball team leaned on the strong play of young stars Terrence Romeo and Moala Tautuaa to come away with a 75-60 victory over Japan on Wednesday, September 2, at the Xinchuang Gymnasium in Taipei.
With the win, Gilas improved to 3-1 in their Jones Cup campaign while the Japanese lost for the fourth time in as many games. While their opponents were playing after getting a day off on Wednesday, the Philippines were in action for the fourth straight time.

The Gilas Pilipinas, Philippine national men’s basketball team hung tough for three quarters but ran out of steam in the fourth quarter against fierce Asian rivals South Korea, 82-70, as it was handed its first loss in the 37th Williams Jones Cup on Monday in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
Playing without naturalized player Andray Blatche, Gilas Pilipinas kept in pace with Korea before allowing a 13-0 run in the final period that saw them go down by as much as 11 points, 69-58, with 4:16 remaining.

The message was clear early for the Philippines: From Russia, no love.Instead of getting mad, Gilas Pilipinas decided to get even, fashioning out an impressive 85-71 victory on Tuesday in the William Jones Cup basketball tournament in Taiwan.
The Filipinos got a taste of Russian physicality early, after starting center Sonny Thoss' head was busted open from an elbow from his counterpart minutes into the game.
