Gilas Pilipinas players would get P1.5 Million bonus each
coach Chot Reyes laughed when asked if if was true each Gilas Pilipinas player plus himself would get a P1 million bonus each from Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas president Manuel V. Pangilinan.
“That’s not true,” he said.
It may turn out that the amount will be more than P1 million.
He said the amount may look big and staggering, “but that’s what these guys should be getting in the three months they missed the PBA,” he said.
Most of them, he said, earn at least P500,000 a month.
“So I would suppose they would get maybe a half more than P1 million.”
But he said he’s not really sure about the exact amount of the bonus which will be known today or tomorrow.
But he admitted that MVP had dangled R2 million if Gilas had beaten Iran and won the gold medal.
