Malaysia finished with its best result in the preliminary round of the FIBA Asia Championship, falling to South Korea by a mere 22 points, 80-58, on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Malaysians were victims of extremely lopsided results in their first two outings against Iran and China, the winners of the last seven editions of the Asian tournament. Iran battered Malaysia, 115-25, on opening day before China did the same thing with a 113-22 scoreline.

INDIA vs KAZAKHSTAN.
Kazakhstan defeated India 80-67.

HONG KONG vs QATAR. (watch Qatar vs Hong Kong Full Game Replay here)
Qatar defeated Hong Kong 87-64.

CHINA vs IRAN. ( watch Iran vs China Full Game Replay here )
But two-time champion Iran didn't seem to think so, completing a sweep with an impressive 70-51 victory over defending titlist China on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

With ailing Chinese star Yi Jianlian sitting out, the Persians pounced early, taking a 26-15 lead in the first quarter before finishing the half with a 41-24 edge.

BAHRAIN vs THAILAND.
Bahrain defeated Thailand 86-62

PHILIPPINES vs TAIPEI. (watch Philippines vs Chinese Taipei Full Game Replay here)
Chinese Taipei caught fire early and late to pull out a gutsy 84-79 victory over the Philippines on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Taiwanese looked wobbly in the third quarter, after a 16-point explosion from Larry Fonacier gave Gilas a 68-55 advantage heading into the final period. But as the Philippines relaxed, Chinese Taipei started the period on a 17-4 run to tie the match at 72-all with 5:11 left in the game.

Gilas was still ahead by a basket, 77-75, when Tseng Wen-Ting nailed a three-pointer off a backboard to give his team the lead. Lu Cheng-Ju hit another three-pointer in the next play for Chinese Taipei to push the lead further to four points.

SAUDI ARABIA vs JORDAN.
Jordan defeated Saudi Arabia 63-47.
