Air21 'open' to talk to Barangay Ginebra about Asi Taulava
Is Asi Taulava joining Barangay Ginebra? Air 21′s team manager and representative to the PBA board, Lito Alvarez told InterAKTV in an exclusive interview that the former Most Valuable Player will be staying with the Express – at least until the Philippine Cup of next season.
“Yung second conference kasi, unlimited height yung import, so open ako,” Alvarez said.
“Tutal wish naman talaga niya na maglaro sa Ginebra so after the Philippine Cup, pwede ako makipag-usap sa kanila,” he added.
But Alvarez said he’s open to keeping the services of Taulava if ever the veteran slotman wishes to stay with Air 21.
“If ever magugustuhan nya dito sa amin at gusto niyang dito mag-retire, then we’re open for that,” added Alvarez.
Taulava had a sensational season in the recent ABL tournament, helping his San Miguel Beer team win the championship while also copping the MVP award.
For Alvarez, he believes Taulava can still turn things around the team’s campaign.
