UAAP: Jeron Teng pushes La Salle beats Ateneo (VIDEO)

Jeron Teng nailed a basket with 1.9 seconds left to lift the DLSU Green Archers past the Ateneo Blue Eagles, 66-64, in the second round of the UAAP men's basketball tournament at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum Sunday evening.

Ateneo was up 49-46 after three quarters, but the Archers went on an 11-4 blast early in the payoff period to take the lead.

After Kiefer Ravena made a shot clock-beating three, a jumper from Montalbo and seven straight points from Almond Vosotros gave DLSU a 57-53 advantage, with 5:29 left.

Ryan Buenafe converted on a layup on the other end, with 4:45 remaining, but Jason Perkins answered with a trey to push La Salle's margin to five, 60-55.

Tiongson kept Ateneo close, 61-59, after two straight transition baskets, with 2:28 left in the game.
Exactly a minute remaining, Perkins was fouled on a loose ball play which angered Coach Bo Perasol. The Ateneo coach Perasol was hit with a technical foul, which was knocked down by Vosotros to put La Salle ahead by four, 63-59.

On the following play, Buenafe hit a three with 41.9 seconds left to keep his team within one, 63-62, but Jeron Teng made a split from the line for a two-point La Salle cushion, 19.4 ticks remaining.
Out of the timeout, Ravena banked a jumper with 14.5 seconds left on the game clock to tie the game at 64-all.

After La Salle called a timeout of their own, Teng drove past Newsome and nailed the game-winning basket with 1.9 seconds left. Ravena missed at the buzzer to seal the win for the Archers.

Vosotros led La Salle's attack with 19 points and six rebounds. Perkins talled 13 points, 15 rebounds, and two blocks.

Tiongson paced Ateneo with 14 points and four rebounds, while Elorde and Ravena added 13 and 12 marlers, respectively.

In the first half, Ateneo forced La Salle to 10 turnovers and only 34.6-percent shooting from the field to take a 33-31 lead. Nico Elorde had 10 points and Ravena scored six, while Perkins led La Salle with 10.
