Houston Rockets rising star Chandler Parsons admitted he went out on a dinner date with Philippine actress KC Concepcion on Tuesday night, months after a Twitter exchange that caught the attention of showbiz and sports fans alike.

Parsons, a Rockets sophomore who is in the country to play in the NBA preseason game against the Indiana Pacers on Thursday, confirmed he met with Concepcion during an interview with local mediamen during Wednesday’s media availability day at the Mall of Asia Arena.

“I did,” said Parsons, when asked by a reporter if he had met Concepcion during the Rockets’ stop in Manila for the NBA Global Games. “We had dinner last night.”

Parsons, the Rockets' second-round draft pick at 38th overall out of the University of Florida, and Concepcion had an intriguing exchange of tweets last May that attracted interest among netizens.

Concepcion was even teased about the Twitter exchange by TV host Kris Aquino during the latter's morning program.

Parsons and Concepcion had another exchange of tweets last September.

When asked how they got to know each other, Parsons said he was introduced by a common friend to Concepcion, with whom he hopes to do some work in the future.

“We had a mutual friend that put us in contact and hopefully, we can have some work together in the future,” said Parsons.

Parsons didn’t specify what the real score was between him and Concepcion. But he only had good things to say about the daughter of actress and singer Sharon Cuneta.

“She is a great girl and we had a good time last night,” Parsons said.
