Floyd Mayweather on fighting Manny Pacquiao: ‘Who?'

Floyd Mayweather Jr. still wants none of Manny Pacquiao that he even started taking a shot at the Filipino’s existence.
Mayweather, who last saw action in the ring last September against Saul Alvarez, has four fights left in his massive six-fight deal with broadcaster Showtime. And he’s not rushing things regarding his next bout.

Asked by David Mayo of the Grand Rapids Press about the identity of his next opponent, Mayweather said things will get in motion soon.

“Next week. I’m looking forward to next week. But as for me, right now, I'm not thinking about boxing," he told Mayo.

The boxing world is still not giving up on a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, especially with the Filipino’s dominant win over Brandon Rios in Macau two Sundays ago to get his career back on track. Even Showtime has gone on record about its interest in a showdown between the sport’s two biggest stars.

“I will call (Pacquiao promoter Bob) Arum. This is an enticing enough opportunity to do it. HBO, for whatever reason, doesn’t have an exclusive deal with Manny Pacquiao, so there’s no reason it can’t be on Showtime,” Stephen Espinoza, Showtime’s executive vice president, recently told the Los Angeles Times.

But as far as Mayweather is concerned, Pacquiao does not exist. In the same interview, Mayo brought up the possibility of a fight between him and Pacquiao.

His one-word response: “Who?”
