Daniel Padilla drafted by AMA Titans in the PBA D-League
PBA D-League squad AMA Titans drafted teenage heart-throb Daniel Padilla as their 15th round pick – the last player to be chosen in their first ever Rookie Draft on Monday.
A school-based squad, AMA is entitled to name any player enrolled in its institution.
Padilla’s inclusion came as bit of a shock, arguably a bigger surprise than boxing champion Manny Pacquiao’s appointment as playing coach of PBA expansion team Kia.
The selection of Padilla overshadowed the rest of the Draft that saw Moala Tatuaa, a 6-foot-7 slotman from Chadron State College who played for the Westsport KL Dragons, picked first overall by Cagayan Valley.
Selected second by Tanduay was Chris Newsome of Ateneo while taken in as third by Cafe France was 6-foot-9 Arnold Van Opstal of La Salle.

In a surprising move, the AMA Titans selected the actor in the 15th and last round of the 2014 PBA D-League draft on Monday.
But in a text message, the actor said that while he wants to play in the D-League, the news is "not true."
Padilla was the lone pick in the 15th round after the league's 11 other teams elected to pass.
