Philippines sets new Guinness world record in basketball marathon (VIDEO)

It’s only proper that this basketball-crazy nation now owns the wacky record for the longest non-stop basketball ever played in the world.
Intrepid participants in the 2014 Philippine Basketball Marathon achieved the feat for the country after playing continuous basketball from 9 a.m. Monday to around the same time yesterday morning at the Meralco Gym.

With their unbending spirit and resolve, the Phl cage marathoners logged a little over 120 hours of play, surpassing the time of 112 hours and 13 seconds the Missouri Athletic Club set in its own wacky game in St. Louis, Missouri on March 21 to 25, 2012.

Grinnell's Jack Taylor scores 109 points, averaging 90 a game (VIDEO)

Jack Taylor of Division III Grinnell College scored 109 points against Crossroads in a 173-123 win on Sunday afternoon. After scoring 71 points in the season opener, Taylor's now averaging 90 points a game.
Despite his incredible shooting performance on Sunday, 109 points isn't even his career high. Taylor dropped 138 points in a game last November, setting the all-time D-III individual scoring record.

Guinness World Record For Longest Basketball Shot (VIDEO)

Trend setters and innovators of the game of basketball for decades, the iconic Harlem Globetrotters have added another in a long line of amazing feats, as Globetrotters rookie Thunder Law today smashed the official Guinness World Records® record for the longest basketball shot – connecting from 109 feet 9 inches, besting the old mark of 104 feet 7 inches, set nearly three years ago.
Law broke the record at US Airways Center in Phoenix, home of the Phoenix Suns, as part of the ninth annual Guinness World Records Day.

PBA to implement 'equalizer rule' in next Commissioner's Cup

The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) will be implementing a new rule regarding the height limit for imports who will be playing in the Commissioner’s Cup in the league’s 2013-2014 season.
They will have to pass the required 6’9” height limit for the Commissioner’s Cup, which comes after the season opening Philippine Cup.

High school player scores 120 points in a game

A player of the AMA Junior Titans reportedly scored a stunning 120 points during a game against Lord’s Grace Christian University in the 8th Mariano Bondoc Cup held at the Hope Christian Academy in Quezon City.

Clark Quijano, a 16-year-old player, fired off 120 points in only three quarters of action to lead his team to a 166-85 victory.

Fresh from a whirlwind scouting trip that took him to two Asian countries, Gilas Pilipinas assistant coach Norman Black has listed defending champion China, Iran, and South Korea as the three teams to beat in the FIBA Asia Men’s Championship in two weeks' time.
