Gilas Pilipinas player Japeth Aguilar showed his dunk-prowess vs Japan in their opening game for the second round of the FIBA Asia Championship 2013.
His sensational dunks break the spirits of the Japanese team. His team, Philippines, won the game 90-71.

The Philippine national men’s basketball team played its best basketball of the FIBA Asia Championship so far, posting an impressive 90-71 beatdown of Japan on Monday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Coming off a heartbreaking loss to Chinese Taipei last Saturday, Gilas Pilipinas showed its resilience with pinpoint shooting and suffocating defense to book its first victory in the second round of the tournament.
“We wanted to forget about the last game,” said Gilas coach Chot Reyes.

What a statement. Gilas Pilipinas showed it can bounce back from a tough loss, dealing Japan an emphatic 90-71 demolition to open the second round with a bang in the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship on Monday, August 5 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Marcus Douthit asserted himself early and often while Filipino sniper Jeff Chan came alive in a searing 3rd quarter breakaway that gave the Philippines a huge cushion enough to secure their 3rd win in 4 games.

FIBA Asia 2013: Japan vs Hong Kong Full Game Replay
Japan used a furious third quarter run to break away from a surprisingly tough Hong Kong squad en route to a 96-79 victory on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Hong Kong, traditionally a minnow in Asian competition, waxed hot with eight three-pointers in the first half to keep the game close at the break, trailing Japan by just one point, 41-40. It was still only a hairline lead, 50-49, midway through the third quarter when Japan unleashed a 14-4 run to end the period.

Japan to bring Sakuragi in FIBA Asia Championship
The Japanese national men’s basketball team will be leaning on an athletic forward named Sakuragi in its campaign in the FIBA Asia Championship.
Unfortunately for local fans of the anime series “Slam Dunk,” it won’t be redheaded rebounder Hanamichi Sakuragi.
