Alaska coach Trillo to James Yap: “Nagpapadehado lang yan"
Yesterday, Calvin Abueva said to James Yap "Mag-chess na lang siya" (read story here). That's after Yap accused Abueva of playing dirty during their Game 2 of PBA Commissioner's Cup 2013. Now, Alaska head coach joined the war.
“Nagpapadehado lang yan. He knows it’s the playoffs.”
That was how Alaska coach Luigi Trillo responded to San Mig Coffee superstar James Yap’s comments about Aces forward Calvin Abueva.
Yap was fuming after Game Two of their Commissioner’s Cup semifinals series, accusing Abueva of hitting him with cheap shots.
But Trillo pointed out that Yap was no saint himself, having been involved in similar plays in the past.
“The Terrence Leather incident plus the one he did to Jireh Ibanes. Let’s not forget that,” said Trillo, adding Yap lost his cool because of Abueva’s defense.
“Napikon siya because of the leech-like defense of Calvin. If you look closely, maganda lang ang defense ni Calvin. It was Yap who hit him twice in two separate instances and James knows it. He lost his focus.”
Yap said Abueva elbowed him in his injured back. But Trillo said the Aces were not going to let up on their physical defense on the San Mig Coffee top gun.
“Ano ang gusto niya? Iilagan namin ang likod niya kapag namumuwersa siya sa poste?” said Trillo.
