China, reeling from a shocking opening day loss in the FIBA Asia Championship, vented its frustration on hapless Malaysia, 113-22, on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Teenage center Wang Zhelin led the charge with 21 points and eight rebounds while veteran campaigner Wang Zhizhi added 17 and five for China, which topped Iran’s 90-point victory over Malaysia on Thursday.
Star player Yi Jianlian, the only player in double figures in China’s loss to South Korea a day earlier, sat out the game.

Chinese Taipei cruised to an easy 90-67 victory over Saudi Arabia to book its second straight win in the FIBA Asia Championship on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.Cheng-Ju Lu led Chinese Taipei with 20 points, while naturalized center Quincy Davis added 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Japan used a furious third quarter run to break away from a surprisingly tough Hong Kong squad en route to a 96-79 victory on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Philippine national men’s basketball team started slowly once more, but woke up in time in the third quarter to run away with a 77-71 win over Jordan in the FIBA Asia Championship on Friday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
