Gilas Pilipinas coach Chot Reyes reveals SEA Games roster

Gilas Pilipinas head coach took to Twitter on Thursday to reveal what is likely the final roster for the men's basketball squad that will represent the Philippines in the 2013 SEA Games in Myanmar, this December.

In his tweet, Reyes listed Gilas cadets Kevin Alas, Matt Roser, Garvo Lanete, and Jake Pascual as the core of the squad, along with naturalized center Marcus Douthit. To that five, he added collegiate standouts Kiefer Ravena (ADMU), Jericho Cruz (ADU), Bobby Ray Parks (NU), Kevin Ferrer (UST), Mac Belo (FEU), and Prince Caperal (AU).

UE point guard Roi Sumang and DLSU center Arnold Van Opstal were mentioned as alternates.

Ravena and Parks were on the 2011 SEA Games team, which was known as Sinag.

The roster is different from the one released last October 22. Gone are Terrence Romeo, Greg Slaughter and RR Garcia, likely because they have now been drafted in the PBA. Also not on the list is swingman Chris Newsome from Ateneo, due to the SEA Games adapting FIBA eligibility rules.

In the 2011, under current Talk 'N Text head coach Norman Black, the Sinag squad swept the opposition en route to a gold medal.

This squad will be coached by Jong Uichico for the December tourney. - AMD, GMA News
