adidas today announced a partnership with NBA point guard Jeremy Lin of the Houston Rockets.

“I’m really excited to join the adidas family,” said Lin. “They’ve changed the game with new technology and style and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

Lin joins the adidas basketball roster which includes teammate and seven-time NBA All-Star Dwight Howard and a lineup of elite point-guards highlighted by Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls, John Wall of the Washington Wizards and Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers.

Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard was fined $25,000 by the NBA on Thursday for tossing a ball into the stands in a match in Dallas that his team eventually lost.

Shortly after he was fouled with less than three minutes to play, Howard was heckled by a fan near the court during the Wednesday game.

Dwight Howard lived up to the hype Wednesday, tying his career high with 26 rebounds to help Houston post a 96-83 NBA season-opening victory over Charlotte.

Howard, the most coveted free agent of 2013, left a tumultuous 2012-13 season with the Los Angeles Lakers behind him when he signed a four-year, $88 million contract with the Rockets in July.

NBA. Dwight Howard made his Houston Rockets debut against the New Orleans Pelicans, and had an impressive 19 points and 9 rebounds. New Orleans Pelicans beat Houston 116-115.

Shaquille O’Neal isn’t the only Hall of Fame former Lakers center taking shots at Dwight Howard on his way out of LA. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar thinks little of Howard’s game and maturity.

Former NBA superstar Hakeem Olajuwon sees a bright season for Houston with the Rockets’ recent acquisition of Dwight Howard.

Olajuwon, who was recently hired by Houston as the team’s player development specialist, said pairing the former Laker with their very own Jeremy Lin could be a deadly combination for the Rockets.
