'Dwight Howard-Jeremy Lin potent combination for Houston Rockets'
Former NBA superstar Hakeem Olajuwon sees a bright season for Houston with the Rockets’ recent acquisition of Dwight Howard.
Olajuwon, who was recently hired by Houston as the team’s player development specialist, said pairing the former Laker with their very own Jeremy Lin could be a deadly combination for the Rockets.
Olajuwon said that part of Lin’s role will be taking the ball to Howard, who is expected to dominate other big men inside the paint.
"He can really help and play his role very well and be effective," he said of Lin.
"Just the little offense I saw, that combination is very deadly and you can see that both of them are very excited seeing that 'wow, we bring the right ingredients together,' " Olajuwon said.
"When you see players that are dedicated to succeed, it gives you that window to see what kind of season that we're looking for."
Howard left Orlando Magic in 2012 to join a star-studded lineup in Los Angeles.
But after a turbulent 2012-2013 season with the Lakers, he decided to transfer to Houston.
There he hopes to work with Lin and fellow superstar James Harden.
The 2013-2014 NBA season starts on October 29.
