Manny Pacquiao says experience with semi-pro team qualifies him to be playing coach in PBA

Filipino fight icon Manny Pacquiao is raring to take on a new challenge in the sporting world, eyeing a stint with expansion team Kia in the PBA.

The WBO world welterweight champion has declared that he will be playing coach for the incoming PBA club, and he’s looking forward to proving his worth.

“Siguro nabigyan ng break at naipakita ang talent natin sa pag-ba-basketball at pag-ko-coach,” said Pacquiao.

While he has not had any high-level experience in playing and coaching basketball, Pacquiao pointed to his stint in owning and playing for his semi-pro team — the MP GenSan Warriors — as qualification for joining the PBA.

Philippine Youth team sweeps SEABA Under-18; book ticket to FIBA Asia Under-18

The Philippine national youth basketball team showed no mercy in dismantling Singapore, 124-63, to sweep the 2014 Southeast Asian Under-18 basketball championship on Wednesday in Sabah, Malaysia.
The win capped the dominant run for the Filipino youngsters, who made quick work of Indonesia (98-35) and Malaysia (93-76) in their previous games.

Manny Pacquiao confirms joining PBA as 'playing coach'

It looks like nothing is stopping boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao from fulfilling his PBA dream.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Pacquiao said he is set to join PBA expansion team KIA Motors.

"[I'll be] playing coach," he told ABS-CBN's Dyan Castillejo, adding that he'll be taking the point guard position.

It is the first MVP award for Durant, who captured his fourth scoring title in five seasons, joining Wilt Chamberlain, George Gervin and Michael Jordan as the only players to accomplish this feat.

Despite teammate Russell Westbrook appearing in only 46 games, Durant guided the Thunder to the NBA’s second-best record at 59-23.
