Kevin Durant wins 2014 NBA MVP Award (Acceptance Speech VIDEO)
Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder is the winner of the Maurice Podoloff Trophy as the 2013-14 Kia NBA Most Valuable Player, the NBA announced Tuesday.
It is the first MVP award for Durant, who captured his fourth scoring title in five seasons, joining Wilt Chamberlain, George Gervin and Michael Jordan as the only players to accomplish this feat.
Despite teammate Russell Westbrook appearing in only 46 games, Durant guided the Thunder to the NBA’s second-best record at 59-23.

MVP on buying NBA's LA Clippers: "Hanap pa tayo ng ba"
Telecommunications mogul backed off on talk about buying into the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, with the league starting the process of kicking out controversial owner Donald Sterling.
“Hanap pa tayo ng iba, andyan pa naman yung (Golden State) Warriors, baka makasingit,” Pangilinan.
Pangilinan attended a Warriors game last March, telling InterAksyon.com that he was “definitely” still interested in a minority stake in the team.
The Clippers are expected to be on the market after the NBA banned owner Donald Sterling for life after racist comments he made were made public this week.

Thirdy Ravena officially commits to Ateneo Blue Eagles
UAAP Juniors Most Valuable Player (MVP) Thirdy Ravena is not going anywhere. After starring for the Ateneo Blue Eaglets in high school, the versatile forward has committed to play for the Blue Eagles in the UAAP seniors division.
Thirdy, the younger brother of former Rookie of the Year Kiefer Ravena, made the announcement on his Twitter account.
“It’s official. Finally teammates with Kiefer Ravena for the first time,” Thirdy tweeted Wednesday afternoon.

Calvin Abueva's claim to ROY-MVP Award is impossible now

MVP to reward Philippine youth team after qualifying for World Championship
Another Philippine national team has made the basketball-crazy country proud once more, after the youth squad entered the gold medal match of the FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship in Iran.
The team booked a ticket to the FIBA Under-17 World Championship in Dubai next year, marking a banner year for the Philippine basketball after Gilas Pilipinas earlier qualified for the Basketball World Cup last August.
For Manuel V. Pangilinan, the president of Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, the success of the team is a testament to the effectiveness of the country’s basketball programs.

Calvin Abueva on track to become the 2nd ROY-MVP in PBA
Calvin Abueva might have a shot at becoming only the second player in PBA history to win MVP honors in his rookie year should he sustain his searing pace in the season-ending Governors Cup slated to start Aug. 14.
Abueva, the season’s second draft pick behind Petron Blaze’s Junmar Fajardo, is on track to making the official candidates list, being a strong runner-up in the Best Player of the Conference derbies in the Philippine Cup and in the Commissioner’s Cup.

Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas president Manuel V. Pangilinan , popularly known as MVP, expressed disappointment over the choice of Lebanon over the Philippines as host of the FIBA Asia Championship next year.

HOT ON TWITTER: MVP of TV5 plans to acquire GMA-7 for 500 Million Pesos?
It is a hot issue on blogs and social networking sites like twitter that TV5 Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan (MVP) plans to buy-out one of the major TV stations in the country, the GMA Network for Php500 Billion. GMA-7 worth only Php22 Million according to Philippines Stock Exchange (PSE).
The news sparked from Ruffa Gutierrez' tweet regarding what's MVP will be buying next. Though Ruffa doesnt mention (in her tweet) any name or any company.
