Vice Ganda to guest Nancy Binay on 'Gandang Gabi Vice'?
After his public criticism of senatorial aspirant Nancy Binay last week, comedian Vice Ganda is now calling on the public to stop criticizing the daughter of the Vice President.'
In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Wednesday, the "It's Showtime" host said the voters have already spoken.
“Nanalo na siya so itigil na natin ang kapaitan. Kung nanalo na 'yung tao, ibigay na natin sa kanya 'yung tagumpay niya, 'di ba? Nanalo siya, igalang natin iyon at kinongratulate ko siya. ‘Di na natin pwedeng i-contest iyon kasi tao naman na 'yung bumoto. Igalang na lang rin natin 'yung desisyon ng tao,” he said.
As of May 16, 2:31 p.m., Binay already garnered 13,274,714 votes according to the partial and unofficial count of the Commission on Elections. She is at the fifth spot after Grace Poe, Loren Legarda, Chiz Escudero and Alan Peter Cayetano.
“Sabi ko nga sa 'Showtime,' change what you cannot accept, accept what you cannot change. 'Yung pagiging senador niya ngayon, isang bagay na hindi na natin mababago. Let's just accept and respect,” Vice Ganda said.
Instead of criticizing, Vice Ganda said it is now time for everyone to help those who will be elected in the government posts.
“Magtulungan na lang tayo, suportahan na lang natin siya. Dahil dapat ang mamamayan at 'yung pamahalaan magtulungan 'yan kasi kung magbabatuhan lang tayo ng magbabatuhan, wala namang mangyayari,” he said.
Asked if he is open to guest Binay on his show “Gandang Gabi Vice,” he said: “Tinanong ako nung staff, ‘Gusto mo bang i-guest sa 'GGV'? Okay lang ba sa 'yo kukunin?’ Ay, go, sabi ko. Kasi hindi naman ako, wala naman akong personal na (galit) kay Nancy. Hindi naman kami magkakilala, wala naman akong sama ng loob o galit sa kanya. Opinyon ko lang 'yung nasabi ko.”
Vice Ganda shared that he has already spoken to his good friend Kris Aquino, who is also known to be a close friend of the Binays.
“Nung pagkatapos nga nung press con, tapos tumawag sakin si Kris, sabi ko ay ito na si Kris. Sabi ko tatalakan ako nito. Tapos nung tinawagan niya ko, hindi naman. Sabi niya, ‘Hindi, okay naman 'yan. Sabi ko, ‘Wala akong sinabi ha. Wala akong sinabing masama,’” he said.
