The soft-spoken official likewise hinted that they will exercise their third pick right, hoping to get the big man they have long lacked in their roster.

“Yes, we will pick third. Hopefully, makakuha na ng big man. Yan ang sinabi ni coach Yeng (Guiao) na kukunin niya,” he said, while admitting to getting tempted at quality guards who have joined the 2013 draft.

“Marami ngang talent eh. Kaso wala kami magagawa. We have to address our needs first. We have been lacking a big man - so big man kami,” added the former PBA chairman of the board.

Mondragon also bared that he has been receiving feelers from different teams regarding their 9th pick on Sunday’s draft.

He however revealed that coach Yeng Guiao has already declared his intention to also utilize it.

“Yes, gagamitin na namin. But coach Yeng told us na it will still depend on the situation,” said Mondragon.

“According to coach Yeng, he will decide on the draft day if he will trade it (9th pick) or not,” he said.

Meanwhile, only Jonathan Uyloan and Chito Jaime have so far remained without a contract renewal.

Mondragon said they are still keeping a tight watch on what kind of players they will get in the draft before they weigh their options on the two fringe cagers.
