Gilas Pilipinas' journey to 2014 FIBA World Cup #LabanPilipinas
It was last year when the Philippine National Basketball team, Gilas Pilipinas, showed to world that no goal is impossible when they defeated the South Korean team in the semifinal round of 2013 FIBA Asia Cup, that win gave them the silver finish and a spot in this year 2014 FIBA World Cup which will be held in several places in Spain.
But before Gilas Pilipinas embark on their journey in preparation for the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain and the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea.
Gilas Pilipinas will staged The biggest basketball charity event of the year happening tonight July 22nd and 23rd at the SMART Araneta Coliseum with the Gilas Pilipinas taking on an elite group of US basketball superstars comprising the FIBR All-Stars team led by Blake Griffin, Terrence Ross, Damian Lillard, Demar De Rozan, Kyle Lowry and Kawhi Leonard. Key additions to the team are Tyson Chandler, Paul George, Ed Davis, Nick Johnson, Ed Davis, and James Harden.
On the other hand, Gilas Pilipinas team will be bannered by team captain Jimmy Alapag, LA Tenorio, Larry Fonacier, Gary David, Jeff Chan, Gabe Norwood and Jason Castro. The frontline will be manned by naturalized player Marcus Douthit, Japeth Aguilar, Junemar Fajardo, Ranidel de Ocampo and Marc Pingris. Providing additional firepower for the team are Kevin Alas, Garvo Lanete, Beau Belga, Jay Washington and Paul Lee.
