The PBA on Wednesday handed out a one-game suspension and a fine of P100,000 to Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao for his actions toward league officials during the Elasto Painters’ PLDT Home DSL Philippine Cup semifinals series against the Petron Blaze Boosters.

The fiery coach was ejected in both Game Three and Game Four of the series, each time complaining about the officiating. He continued to blast the referees after the Elasto Painters’ win over the Boosters last Monday to take a 3-1 lead.

PBA chief to Calvin Abueva: Drop 'troubled ways' bring back 'the beast'

Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner Chito Salud has urged Calvin Abueva to drop his “troubled ways” and bring back “The Beast” that steered Alaska to the Commissioner’s Cup title.

Salud lamented that Abueva has been getting a lot of attention lately, not because of his God-given talents, but because of his involvement in controversies.

Just recently, the prized forward banged heads with Jared Dillinger while he contested the latter’s drive to the basket during the Meralco-Alaska game.
