Racquel Pempengco allows Charice to reveal real identity

Is Charice a lesbian? Raquel Pempengco, the mother of international singing sensation Charice, is allowing her daughter to finally "confirm her real identity."


In an interview with ABS-CBNnews.com on Friday, Pempengco addressed a reported planned announcement of Charice on her sexual preference.

"Ang sinasabi ng puso ko at isip ko bilang ina ay hayaan ko siyang ilantad kung ano ang tunay na katauhan niya. Kung ano ang gusto niya, dahil doon siya magiging maligaya," Pempengco said.

Juan Manuel Marquez, Timothy Bradley lose millions for snubbing Manny Pacquiao

Both Juan Manuel Marquez and Timothy Bradley will be missing a huge payday for snubbing Manny Pacquiao, according to the Filipino’s business adviser Michael Koncz.


Koncz told Boxing Scene that Marquez was offered $13 million for a fifth fight with the Filipino superstar, while Bradley got a $6-million proposal. However, both fighters snubbed the offers by going after each other instead.

"I don't even want to speculate. I gave Bradley and Marquez the opportunity to fight [Pacquiao right] now,” Koncz said.

PBA Commissioner’s Cup finals to be aired on TV5


The PBA Board of Governors on Thursday approved the moved of its broadcast partner to carry all the games of the Commissioner’s Cup finals over TV5.


According to PBA commissioner Chito Salud, the board “found the stronger, clearer, and more widespread signal and reach of Channel 5 to be appropriate and consistent with the league’s thrust to reach out to the league’s fans nationwide on a broader basis.”

Philippine Azkals drop to 144th in the latest FIFA World Rankings

After grabbing a historic high in the world football ladder, the Philippine Football team ,Philippine Azkals, dropped one spot in the latest FIFA World Rankings released on Thursday.


The Azkals moved to 144th from the country’s all-time high ranking at 143rd last month to tie Kazakhstan in the ladder. The Philippines, however, still remained as the third best team in Southeast Asia behind Vietnam (132nd) and Thailand (142nd).

Rafael Nadal made a comfortable start to his quest for a third Madrid Masters title on Wednesday but Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka slumped to a shock exit.

Nadal eased past Frenchman Benoit Paire 6-3, 6-4 and will next face Mikhail Youzhny of Russia for a place in the quarter-finals.

One break in each set was enough for Nadal as he overcame some impressive variety and touch shown by Paire early on to break when the world number 37 was serving at 2-3 down in the opening set, before eventually sealing it 6-3.
