PBA telecast on TV5 receives complaints from fans
COMPLAINTS are mounting over the new television broadcast of the PBA games, which fans rued have left them confused and frustrated and - in the case of those with access only to free TV - completely tuned out.
At the center of the growing anger is the telecast of the first game of weekday doubleheaders, which is shown live on Aksyon TV 41 - TV5's sister channel on the UHF band - and on a delayed basis by the league's regular coveror, TV5, after its late-evening newscast.

Manny Pangilinan not giving up on TV5 despite losing billions
PLDT chairman Manny V. Pangilinan is not pulling the plug on spending for the conglomerate's media units, TV5, although they may be losing money.
Pangilinan said he is giving his newly appointed TV5 chief executive officer Noel Lorenzana enough room to turn around the bleeding network, which lost another P2.8 billion in the first half last year, after losing P4 billion in 2011.
"There's always an effort to turn around TV5," Pangilinan said. "But nothing specific."

GMA7-TV5 Merger: PLDT in Talks With Banks to Fund the Acquisition
PHILIPPINE LONG Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) has begun approaching creditors to prepare for plans to acquire GMA Network, Inc. after already raising funds from an asset sale, a ranking official yesterday said.
“We are talking to our bankers,” PLDT Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan told reporters in a chance interview.
“We are preparing [funding] in the event that the deal materializes,” Mr. Pangilinan added, referring to ongoing talks to buy into broadcaster GMA Network.

GMA7 & TV5 Merger Set on November ?!
I was following this story since the rumors arise about possible buyout of GMA Network by Manny V. Pangilinan, aka MVP. Because I’ am interested on what will happen on the TV industry if the buy-out push through or if the merger happens.
Will MVP can sustain the hold of GMA-7 on Mega Manila and soon dethrone ABS-CBN on the National level. And Will TV5 can rise from being no.3 TV Network in the Philippines and placed ABS-CBN on third. Or the exact opposite will happen that ABS-CBN will still dominate the National TV Arena and will eventually snatch the lead on Mega Manila from GMA-7?
Well, we can only see what will happen after the grand merger happens on November of this year.

This has to be a blind item as of now. Before the year ends, probably end of November, a giant merger will be announced in a grand (as in “fabulous!”) style.

3 Kapamilya Stars that will transfer to TV5: Sarah Geronimo, Aga Muhlach and Angel Locsin?
Usap-usapan in every corner of the showbiz industry that 3 Kapamilya Stars of ABS-CBN will be transferred soon to the TV5. The Three Kapamilya Stars are Sarah Geronimo, Aga Muhlach and Angel Locsin.
ON SARAH GERONIMO.
The rumor started when Willie Revillame announced on his show, "Willing-willie", that Pop Superstar Sarah Geronimo will be the host of the "born to be a star", a future show of TV5. But sinasabi ng iba na hindi makakalipat si Sarah G. because she is under contract for ABS-CBN for 2 years pa. But sinasabi naman ng iba na makakalipat siya at babayaran na lang ng TV5 ang existing contract niya with ABS-CBN.
Kung lilipat nga si Sarah Geronimo sa TV5 well we will know someday. But I have speculation on why she will transfer. (1)Dahil siya ang sinisisi kung bakit flop ang kakatapos niyang show na "IDOL" (2)Dahil mas malaki ang offer ng TV5? at (3) dahil gusto niyang maka-iwas kay...guess who?... Rayver Cruz.

"Willing Willie" Pilot Episode: Willie is Back with his cheap show yet its entertaining.
Former Wowowee Host Willie Revillame is back in the game. His new variety show on TV5 is definitely the cheap version of "Wowowee" in ABS-CBN but... even it look cheap because of its soundsystem and borrowed songs from "Wowowee" still the whole show is good and entertaining. And i think that is the most important part.
The games are enjoying and funny though I still miss the Hep! Hep! Hooray ! in "wowowee". :)
Anyway, As of this writing, the Quezon City Court junks Willie Revillame's appeal to dismiss the P486M Suit by Media titan ABS-CBN. The QC Court ordered Willie to post a bond of P427M not later than October 27, 2010.
