It has been five years since De La Salle University Green Archers last played in a UAAP Finals that LA Revilla swears he has forgotten how it feels.

He'll soon get reacquainted with it. The only remnant of the La Salle team that lost to Ateneo in the 2008 Finals, the veteran point guard is also one of the biggest reasons why the Green Archers are back in the league's showpiece event.

Revilla placed behind him what until then had been a so-so final season with the Archers and stepped up in the games that mattered, more so in a 71-68 win over Far Eastern University on Wednesday.

“Hindi ko alam ang ine-expect ko (sa Finals),” said Revilla, a former San Beda Red Cub and a rookie in the De La Salle team that bowed to Ateneo in the 2008 Finals.

“It was different because it was five years ago. I really don’t know. I just have to take it one game at a time."

Revilla had an outstanding two games against FEU as he put a lock on the point guard spot for the Archers, scoring 20 points and hitting six triples to give La Salle the second seeding - and a twice-to-beat advantage - in the Final Four.

The heady point guard also finished with 15 points and buried crucial baskets for the Green Archers on Wednesday in the win that ended the Tamaraws' title hopes.

Being one of the veterans on the team, Revilla said he knows how important the games are for the school and takes it upon himself to play with more urgency.

“I think it’s a matter of putting my mind into the game. I guess I know how important these games are. I don’t want to take this for granted,” he said.

With De La Salle's place in the finale secure, Revilla is right on track for a Hollywood ending to his college career.

“We are here already," he said. "Todo lang."
