Pacquiao 'never hurt me' says Brandon Rios despite loss (VIDEO)
Mexican-American Brandon Rios conceded that he was humbled by Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao during their 12-round welterweight clash in Macau on Sunday.
Rios just could not get his hands on an evasive Pacquiao and. more importantly, got tagged by the speedy Filipino over and over again.
“I just got beat by one of the best fighters in the world,” the Texas-based slugger told Boxing Scene after his unanimous decision loss to Pacquiao.
“He’s very fast. He has a lot of different angles. He’s difficult to box against.”
Rios, who predicted a knockout win against the fighting congressman, came out swinging with wide punches to the head and to the body.
But the Mexican-American found himself punching the air as Pacquiao wisely avoided a brawl.
"What got me was just the speed and his awkwardness," Rios said in a separate ESPN report.
The only consolation he got was that he wasn’t knocked down by the heavy punching Filipino.
And despite the beatdown, he only sustained minor cuts and some swelling in his brows.
"He never hurt me at all, and I never got stunned at all, but the quickness just caught me off guard," Rios said.
