Manny Pacquaio, Mayweather camps deny reports of September bout

The camps of Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather deny talks the two boxers will fight in September.
Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz told ABS-CBN News neither he nor Pacquiao has made a categorical statement about the supposed fight.

Mayweather made a similar denial on Fight Hype.

He says reports of a Pacquiao fight are false unless he himself declares it or if it comes from core members of his so-called “Money Team” Leonard Ellerbe or Al Haymon.

On Thursday, netizens were buzzing over reports that a Pacquiao-Mayweather megabout is a done deal.

The reports cited a video posted on YouTube boxing Channel '78 Sports TV' which quoted an unnamed source

Koncz denies Pacquiao-Floyd fight a done deal.

Manny Pacquiao’s adviser has denied reports that they have already reached a deal with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Michael Koncz reacted to the video report claiming that the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight has already been sealed.

"Don't believe that story unless Manny or I tell you its true,” Koncz told veteran sports commentator Ronnie Nathanielsz.

78SportsTV cited an unnamed source about the elusive superbout being arranged for September 2014.

According to 78SportsTV, the information came from the same source that gave accurate reports about Mayweather’s previous bouts against Robert Guerrero and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez.

But Nathanielsz himself doubted the veracity of the report, alluding to Mayweather’s refusal to work with Pacquiao’s promoter Bob Arum.

"I think no way they can get Arum out,” he said.

Koncz said Pacquiao has yet to decide on his next opponent as the boxer wanted to enjoy the holidays first with his family.

“I already had a brief conversation with Manny but it’s Christmas time, New Year’s time,” said Pacquiao’s Canadian associate. “We’re gonna enjoy the holidays, Manny’s enjoying time with his family.”

Koncz said they will immediately go back to work this month and make concrete steps to finalize the details of Pacquiao’s next fight.

“Manny and I will sit down, seriously talk about what we wanna do, who we wanna fight. And then I’ll relay that to Arum,” said Koncz.

Among the top prospects for Pacquiao’s next bout are WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley and Russian fighter Ruslan Provodnikov.
