New UAAP Rule to be implemented in Season 76

High school players transferring from one UAAP school to another for college need not undergo two years of residency if they are able to secure a release from their mother school, the league said in an official statement Monday, May 13.


According to UAAP president Nilo Ocampo, the board approved the explanatory rule to the residency requirement during its Annual Board Meeting last April 24.

LeBron James denies flopping accusations from Chicago Bulls

The suggestion that he's a flopper drew a grin as wide as his wingspan from LeBron James.


Miami's superstar shot down the accusations from the Chicago Bulls, saying they reminded him of the days when some claimed he was overrated and questioned his ability to lead a team to a championship.

"It's kind of the same (as when) I heard people say I was overrated," he said Sunday (Monday, Manila time). "It's kind of like the same response."

Maria Sharapova confirms romance with Grigor Dimitrov

World number two Maria Sharapova confirmed on Saturday that she is dating fellow tennis star, the highly-rated Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov.


The two had been caught on camera kissing in the streets of Madrid on Wednesday, the day after Dimitrov had dumped world number one Novak Djokovic out of the Madrid Masters.

Racquel Pempengco allows Charice to reveal real identity

Is Charice a lesbian? Raquel Pempengco, the mother of international singing sensation Charice, is allowing her daughter to finally "confirm her real identity."


In an interview with ABS-CBNnews.com on Friday, Pempengco addressed a reported planned announcement of Charice on her sexual preference.

"Ang sinasabi ng puso ko at isip ko bilang ina ay hayaan ko siyang ilantad kung ano ang tunay na katauhan niya. Kung ano ang gusto niya, dahil doon siya magiging maligaya," Pempengco said.

Juan Manuel Marquez, Timothy Bradley lose millions for snubbing Manny Pacquiao

Both Juan Manuel Marquez and Timothy Bradley will be missing a huge payday for snubbing Manny Pacquiao, according to the Filipino’s business adviser Michael Koncz.


Koncz told Boxing Scene that Marquez was offered $13 million for a fifth fight with the Filipino superstar, while Bradley got a $6-million proposal. However, both fighters snubbed the offers by going after each other instead.

"I don't even want to speculate. I gave Bradley and Marquez the opportunity to fight [Pacquiao right] now,” Koncz said.
